Ian Schoenherr is an illustrator and writer of children's books. He also makes book jackets, maps, spot and editorial illustrations, and other odds and ends. On the side, Ian is an obsessive genealogist and a specialist of Howard Pyle (1853-1911), whose work he avidly collects.

Ian: In your research have you found any reasons as to why Pyle's remains were never brought back to the States?
ReplyDeleteApparently, it was Pyle’s own wish to be cremated and the ashes deposited in a Florentine cemetery.
